Sports Massage is a combination of Techniques to relax muscles, improve joint mobility, increase range of motion, increase circulation and relieve muscle ache and stiffness. The number one goal of Sports massage is to prevent injuries. The overall aim of treatment is to enhance performance at whatever level the sportsman has reached. With maintenance massage competitors are more able to sustain high levels of performance without being injured.

While maintenance massage happens in the therapy room, Sports massage often happens at a competitive event.

Example of an event Massage:

Pre event: Using compressions, rocking, shaking and stretching this helps the Athlete prepare mentally & physically for a special event.

Inter-Event: Flushing the muscles and addressing the Athletes needs helps the athlete recover from a specific event while preparing for an upcoming one.

Post event: Flushing the muscles to promote circulation and waste removal helps, the athlete recover from an event, with focus on the specific muscle groups used.
